I have traveled back in time.

I was very confused leaving the ATM at ChinaTrust bank the other day. I thought it might be a computer glitch, but it turned out to be completely accurate — in Taiwan the year is 98. Yeah. Apparently, they started the calendar over in 1911 (I didn't know one could just do that) which was the year of the founding of the Republic of China. Some of my receipts use 2009 as the year, like 7-11 and Starbucks, but it makes sense that ChinaTrust would be compelled to use 98.
